As a Service Now Developer, you will work closely with stakeholders across IT and the wider business to design, develop, configure, and maintain solutions that support operational excellence, service management, strategic portfolio management, and platform governance. The role will be responsible for developing and supporting solutions across the Service Now platform, with particular focus on Common Service Data Model (CSDM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), IT

Service Management (ITSM), Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), and Service Portal capabilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the platform is aligned to business requirements, follows Service Now best practices, and delivers measurable value across the organisation.

The Service Now Developer will work closely with Product Owners, Platform Administrators, Business Analysts, Architects, and the Head of Test to ensure all development activities are appropriately designed, tested, documented, and released into production in accordance with established governance and change management processes.

What you ll be doing

· Develop and maintain solutions across the Service Now platform in accordance with Service Now best practices and development standards.

· Design, configure, and enhance capabilities within ITSM, including Incident, Problem, Change,

· Request, Knowledge, and Service Catalogue processes.

· Support the implementation and ongoing maturity of CSDM, ensuring alignment between services, applications, infrastructure, and business capabilities.

· Develop and optimise ITOM solutions, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, CMDB integrations, and operational visibility tooling.

· Configure and enhance SPM capabilities to support project, portfolio, demand, resource, and strategic planning processes.

· Design and develop user-focused experiences within Service Portal, creating intuitive self-service capabilities for both employees and customers.

· Build and maintain integrations between Service Now and third-party systems using APIs, Integration Hub, web services, and other integration technologies.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

· Support platform upgrades, releases, and enhancements, ensuring compatibility with existing functionality and customisations.

· Work closely with the Head of Test to ensure all developments undergo appropriate functional, integration, user acceptance, and regression testing.

· Create and maintain technical documentation, development standards, and knowledge articles.

· Act as an escalation point for complex platform issues requiring development expertise.

· Promote platform governance, data quality, and adherence to Service Now architectural standards.

What you ll bring to the role

· Experience with Service Now integrations using web services (REST, SOAP), MID Servers, and other integration methods.

· Certified Application Developer (minimum 2 years’ experience)

· Certified Service Now Administrator

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Not mandatory but beneficial:

  • a. Knowledge of database concepts and SQL.
  • b. Experience with ATF or any other automated test tools integration with Service Now
