Fine Sports Surface Specialist

Location: Tanworth-in-Arden

We are seeking an experienced Fine Sports Surface Specialist to join our dedicated team, delivering consistently high-quality playing conditions across a range of premium sports sites. This role is ideal for someone with proven expertise in fine turf management, particularly cricket squares/wickets and bowling greens.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, renovate and maintain cricket squares, wickets and bowling greens to exceptional standards Carry out specialist turf operations including mowing, rolling, scarifying, aeration, top-dressing and over seeding Diagnose and address turf health issues, including pests, disease, thatch, compaction and drainage concerns Operate and maintain fine turf machinery and precision equipment Implement seasonal and site-specific maintenance programmes Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality surfaces across multiple locations Liaise with clients, club representatives and site managers to understand and meet surface performance expectations Requirements:
Demonstrable experience maintaining fine sports turf, with strong emphasis on cricket square/wicket preparation and bowling green management Sound knowledge of turf care principles, soil science and sport-specific performance standards Competence with fine turf machinery (cylinder mowers, rollers, scarifiers, aerators, etc.) High attention to detail and a strong personal pride in surface quality Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team PA1/PA2/PA6 spraying certificates (desirable) Full UK driving licence
