Role OverviewWe are seeking an enthusiastic Head of Netball & Games Coach to lead our netball provision and contribute to our wider sports and co-curricular programmes. The successful candidate will develop the sport, inspire our pupils, build their confidence, and expand opportunities right across the school. Participation and wellbeing remain firmly at the heart of everything we do, matched by our commitment to drive and develop teams and individuals to compete at junior, regional and national levels.
The list below is not exhaustive but gives a good indication of the key responsibilities of the job.
Specific ResponsibilitiesLead Netball Provision - direct and develop netball coaching throughout the school.
Fixtures & Organisation - coordinate netball fixture lists, staffing, and match logistics across junior and senior levels.
CPD & Development - support netball CPD and skills development for other staff members where appropriate.
Resourcing & Facilities - oversee netball resourcing in coordination with the Sports Department.
Multi-Sport Delivery - assist colleagues with the delivery of other sports (e.g., swimming, hockey, athletics, etc.) based on skillset and school requirements
Netball Performance Academy - deliver our Netball Academy, with full departmental support
Promotion - actively support the marketing and promotion of the school, including faculty activities and trips in line with school policy.
Coaching ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality netball coaching across junior and senior school age groups.
Actively contribute to the school's co-curricular programme.
Monitor, track, and report on pupil progress and achievements.
Personal QualitiesDemonstrate the core qualities of in loco parentis - compassion, clarity, and direction.
Proven ability to lead, inspire, and motivate both pupils and colleagues.
A flexible, adaptable approach to learning and coaching.
Requirements & QualificationsNetball Experience - an appropriate level of netball coaching qualification and/or equivalent coaching experience.
Qualifications or experience in additional sports (or willingness to undertake qualifications prior to or during employment).
Driving - ability and willingness to drive a minibus (MiDAS training will be provided).
First Aid - a valid First Aid at Work or equivalent certificate (training can be provided by Lathallan).
AdditionalAs part of the support for Lathallan Senior School boarders, you may be asked to deliver an activity over the course of an 8 week block for one evening a week and support occasional weekend events such as our Rugby 7s Tournament.
LocationBrotherton Castle, Johnshaven
SalarySalary will be according to the experience of the successful candidate. Lathallan facilitates a pension scheme for non-teaching staff.
