Supermarket Assistant, Customer Delivery Driver

Key Responsibilities

• Check your delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
• Ensure all appropriate vehicle safety checks are completed on your van, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety.
• Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
• Help customers with their shopping and build rapport with them based on trust and service.
• Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.

• Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Great customer service skills.
• Time management skills.
• Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (lifting crates, moving cages).
• Comfortable working independently with the ability to be self‑motivated and adaptable.
• IT literate.
• You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.

• Previous driving role experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles.

Night premium of £3.75 per hour for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00. This also applies to existing partners who have enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
