Job Summary

The client GKN Aerospace is seeking a Material Handler based in Severn Beach (postcode BS35 4GG
). The role primarily involves forklift truck driving, managing inbound materials, and picking, packing, and shipping products for delivery.

Suitable candidates will have baseline level (BPSS) clearance or be eligible for this level of clearance.

Days: £14.35 per hour (PAYE).

Shift: £18.37 per hour. Weekday Overtime: £21.53. Weekends: £28.70.

Hours:

Core Days (likely 7 am–3 pm Monday – Friday) during training, then shift pattern:
Week One Monday Tuesday Friday Saturday Sunday;
Week Two Wednesday Thursday.

• Use specific handling equipment as required; may require specific accreditation.
• Follow standard work for material handling (receiving, shipping, warehousing).
• Perform all activities in accordance with safety and quality rules.
• Use suitable equipment (forklift, tow train, etc.) to move material.
• Record material movements in transactional record systems (receipt, booking, etc.).
• Make proposals to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

• Prior experience in materials/stores/inventory handling.
• Overhead crane experience also desirable.
• Accreditation for specific handling equipment (e.g., forklift, tow train, etc.).
