Swindon is recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and safety-conscious Waste Driver (HGV Class
2) to join their team.

No previous waste industry experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced drivers.

In this role, you will be responsible for the safe collection, transportation, and disposal of waste materials while delivering a high standard of service to the local community.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate waste collection vehicles in accordance with company procedures and road traffic regulations.

Collect and transport waste to designated disposal and recycling facilities.

Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance inspections.

Follow all health and safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies.

Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and operational teams.

Complete all required paperwork, including vehicle inspections and route records.

Support sustainable and environmentally responsible waste management practices.

Requirements

Valid HGV Class 2 (Category

C) licence.

No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.

Newly qualified drivers are encouraged to apply.

Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Good level of physical fitness.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Flexible approach to working hours, including early starts and occasional weekend work where required.

Day-to-Day Duties

Complete pre-use vehicle inspections and attend route briefings.

Drive designated collection routes across residential, commercial, and industrial areas.

Ensure safe loading and unloading practices are followed at all times.

Report any incidents, defects, or operational issues promptly.

Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to maintain efficient operations.

Complete end-of-shift vehicle cleaning and all necessary documentation.
