Swindon is recruiting Waste Collection, HGV2 Drivers to support Swindon Council, this is a temporary role but could lead to permanent job offer for the right individual.

No previous waste industry experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced drivers, full induction will be given prior to first shift.

In this role, you will be responsible for the safe collection, transportation, and disposal of waste materials while delivering a high standard of service to the local community.

Role

• Safely operate waste collection vehicles in accordance with company procedures and road traffic regulations.
• Collect and transport waste to designated disposal and recycling facilities.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance inspections.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and operational teams.
• Complete all required paperwork, including vehicle inspections and route records.

Requirements

• Newly qualified drivers are encouraged to apply.
• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category
  
  C) licence.
• No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
• Good level of physical fitness.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including early starts and occasional weekend work where required.
