You will undertake a range of skilled tasks working on the highway network, operation of large goods vehicles, tools and equipment in relation to the service function of the highways, transport and recycling department.
You will take part in the out of hours service including Winter maintenance which will include pre salting, ploughing and patrolling the network of both County & Trunk roads, working outside of normal hours and often in extreme and challenging weather conditions.
The right person will have;- Experience in Ground works
- Under pinning knowledge of plant & equipment used in the maintenance of the highway
- A full HGV / LGV Licence category C
- An ability to communicate at all levels
- Good organisational skills
- The ability to work alone under pressure in adverse weather conditions
You will:
- Work as part of a team carrying out highway maintenance.
- React to safety defects.
