An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Transport Coordinator to join our client's successful and busy distribution team.

Who are they?
Our client is a well-established distribution business with a busy transport and warehouse operation. They are looking for an organised and reliable individual with previous experience in transport, logistics, distribution or warehousing to support the day-to-day running of the operation.

This is a varied role covering transport coordination, carrier consignments, delivery paperwork, export documentation and warehouse support.

Duties of a Transport Coordinator:

Coordinate daily carrier consignments and customer deliveries
Process transport and warehouse paperwork
Prepare customer delivery notes, driver paperwork and export documentation
Liaise with drivers, carriers, customers and internal teams
Investigate and report picking, loading and dispatch issues
Process Purchase Orders for incoming supplier deliveries
Keep transport records, spreadsheets and internal systems accurate and up to date
Support stock counts and produce relevant reports
Process customer credits and check orders
Maintain accurate filing and transport documentation
Answer incoming calls and deal with transport and customer queries
Provide support to the Transport and Warehouse teams
Cover additional duties during holidays and busy periods
What we would like from you:

Previous experience within transport, logistics, distribution, warehousing or a similar operational environment is essential
Good understanding of transport and warehouse processes
Good IT skills and confidence using spreadsheets and internal systems
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organisation and time-management skills
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask and prioritise in a busy environment
Professional telephone manner
Positive, flexible and team-focused attitude
Ability to use your own initiative and resolve issues effectively
Experience as a Transport Coordinator, Transport Administrator, Logistics Coordinator, Logistics Administrator, Transport Planner or within a busy distribution or warehouse environment would be advantageous.
