Warehouse Operator

Overview

The Warehouse Operator supports the Warehouse management in the day‑to‑day running of the warehouse, ensuring high standards of operation, safety and effectiveness while supporting the factory with the goods and parts required.

Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts, following safety standards and company protocols, carrying out daily inspections and maintaining forklift condition.
  • Move goods around the warehouse and to the factory, including loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Assist inventory control: conduct cycle counts, verify stock quantities and locations and mark up inventory accurately.
  • Process deliveries: GRN of goods arriving at the warehouse, reconciling delivery notes, reporting discrepancies or damaged goods.
  • Prepare shipments for collection, checking that paperwork matches items dispatched.
  • Maintain COSHH compliance by storing hazardous items in correct locations.
  • Keep the warehouse tidy, store equipment correctly and report any issues or damages promptly.
  • Coordinate with management on additional warehouse tasks.
  • Uphold high safety standards in the working environment.
  • Support onsite waste management.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience (training will be provided if necessary).
  • Forklift licence (training available).
  • Good organisational, time‑management and team‑working abilities.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Flexibility to change tasks at short notice.
  • Basic computer skills for data input using ERP software.
  • Strong written, oral and maths skills in English.
  • Problem‑solving capabilities and ability to work independently when required.
  • Ability to recognise and enforce quality control of goods.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and support other team members.
  • Excellent time‑keeping.
