Description
Our Early Head Start Teachers play a vital role in nurturing the growth, development, and well-being of infants artis toddler (birth to age three) while honoring the cultural values, traditions, and strengths of the community. The Early Head Start Teacher position is responsible for creating a safe, responsive, and culturally grounded learning environment that supports early development, strengthens family partnerships, and promotes school readiness in alignment with Head Start Performance Standards and community values.
The ideal Early Head Start Teacher is passionate about early childhood education, committed to culturally responsive practice, and dedicated to supporting Native children and families through relationship-based, trauma.domain, and community-centered care appellaton.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and maintain a warm, safe, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for infants and toddlers.
- Plan and implement individualized and group learning experiences that support cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development.
- Integrate local Pomo culture, language, traditions, and community values into daily classroom activities and curriculum, in collaboration with families and community partners.
- Build respectful, trusting relationships with families and caregivers; encourage family engagement and participation in the classroom and program activities.
- Collaborate with family services, health, and disabilities staff to provide comprehensive, wraparound support to children and families.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and program policies.
- Must meet the qualifications for Early Head Start Infant and Toddler Center based staff, as specified in section 645A(h)(1) of the Head Start Act, which requires at a minimum a child development associate credential (CDA), and any subsequent amendments regarding qualifications; or 12 core units in child development coursework.
- Knowledge of infant and toddler development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
- Ability to meet必须 background check and health requirements.
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards.
