The Opportunity

Butler Rose Procurement & Supply Chain is working with a well-established business to recruit a Supply Chain & Inventory Co-ordinator.

This role would suit an analytical and commercially minded professional who enjoys working with data, coordinating supply chain activity and finding practical ways to improve operational performance.

You will play an important part in helping the business anticipate demand, maintain appropriate stock levels and coordinate the flow of goods through its supply chain. Working alongside colleagues across the organisation and external suppliers, you will help ensure that planning decisions are informed by accurate information and that potential issues are addressed before they affect operations.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team where attention to detail, sound judgement and a continuous improvement mindset will make a genuine difference.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning & Business Support

  • Analyse business requirements and historical trends to help anticipate future supply needs.

  • Review planning information regularly, highlighting changes that may affect operational priorities.

  • Maintain reliable data and reporting to support informed commercial and operational decisions.

  • Help colleagues prepare for fluctuations in demand and changes to business requirements.

  • Identify emerging challenges and work with relevant teams to agree appropriate solutions.

  • Contribute to the development of more effective planning methods and reporting practices.

Stock & Availability

  • Review inventory information to ensure stock levels remain appropriate to business needs.

  • Investigate discrepancies and identify opportunities to improve stock accuracy and control.

  • Highlight items requiring attention, including potential shortages and surplus holdings.

  • Support decisions around stock allocation, replenishment priorities and inventory efficiency.

  • Work with colleagues to balance availability, cost and operational requirements.

  • Recommend practical improvements to reduce waste and make better use of available resources.

Supplier & Operational Coordination

  • Support the coordination of supply requirements from initial order placement through to delivery.

  • Maintain regular communication with external partners to obtain updates and resolve routine queries.

  • Track outstanding commitments and help ensure that agreed actions are completed on time.

  • Assist with investigating delays, discrepancies and other issues that could disrupt operations.

  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders.

  • Help identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls and improve supplier coordination.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines analytical ability with strong organisational and communication skills.

You may already be working in supply chain, inventory control, planning, procurement or a related operational role and be looking for an opportunity to broaden your experience.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working with operational data, stock information, planning or supplier-related activities.

  • Confidence using Excel and business systems to analyse information and maintain accurate records.

  • The ability to recognise patterns, investigate discrepancies and recommend practical solutions.

  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to managing workloads.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.

  • A proactive attitude, with the confidence to raise concerns and follow through on actions.

  • The ability to work collaboratively while managing your own responsibilities.

Knowledge of inventory management, forecasting or enterprise planning systems would be beneficial. However, we are also interested in candidates with relevant transferable experience and a willingness to develop their technical skills.

What's on Offer?
  • Salary of up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.

  • A full-time, permanent position within an established business.

  • A varied role combining analysis, coordination and operational problem-solving.

  • Opportunities to develop your experience across several areas of supply chain operations.

  • The chance to contribute to process improvements and support wider business performance.
