Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver safety, security, and capacity at the lowest possible cost while experiencing an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas.
Key Responsibilities- Support vendors, contractors, and teams involved in construction and commissioning of systems such as medium and low voltage power, generators, UPS, HVAC, chilled water, BMS, EPMS, testing & balancing, pumps & hydronic.
- Review design documents, lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT), manage third‑party commissioning vendors for pre‑functional, functional, and integrated systems testing.
- Audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
- Provide comprehensive weekly status reporting and lessons learned to improve program quality.
- Coordinate site activities, prioritize tasks, and ensure issues have clear resolution path.
- Escalate to stakeholders when project turnover is at risk and communicate lessons learned to peers.
- Walk job sites in uneven terrain; lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; group lifts 50 pounds or more.
- Work at heights, from ladders, with hands, fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
- Perform tasks for longer than eight hours with potential night and weekend shifts.
- Work in noisy, colder or hotter environments; manipulate small wires and objects easily.
Job Requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel domestic and internationally up to 25% of the year.
- Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- 5+ years of engineering, installation, or commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or 5 years of relevant discipline work experience.
- High technical competency in mechanical or electrical or control systems used in critical infrastructures.
- Understand design intent by reviewing mechanical or electrical design documentation, drawings, specifications, vendor submittals, and sequence of operations.
- Develop and review commissioning documentation such as test plans, scripts, and vendor reports.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency with SharePoint or similar.
- Strong communication skills, detail‑oriented, highly organized.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures.
- Ability to read and edit construction documents (design drawings, control diagrams, specifications).
- Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/component based on design intent and approved equipment submittals.
The base pay for this position ranges from $105,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
