Data Center Operations Manager, DCC Communities
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Data Center Operations Manager to join our Infrastructure Operations team. This role is operationally responsible for a data center, ensuring day‑to‑day reliability and continuous improvement of our data center operations.
Key Responsibilities- Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
- Manage the performance of a diverse team of data center operation professionals with varying skills across different locations
- Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools
- Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Ensure effective and efficient management of day‑to‑day data center operations including queue management, 24/7 shift arrangement and hardware logistics
- Act as subject‑matter expert across all aspects in data center operations
- Measure and meet all operational KPIs and metrics
- Inspire and guide improvement in team processes, technology innovation and automation
- Manage large‑scale events (outages) and act as the call leader
- Improve workflows and throughput for data center operations
- Recommend, document and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs
- Maintain the on‑call schedule and coordinate absences and vacations
- Maintain passion for quality of service and continuously improve customer experience
The role involves leading hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, on‑call rotation, mentoring and site‑level project work. You will work 24/7 in an environment that requires rapid prioritization, strong communication and organizational skill.
Basic Qualifications- A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
- 2+ years of network and operating system support experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication
- Experience conducting interviews and making hiring decisions
- Project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, PMI‑ACP, PRINCE2)
- Knowledge of EC2, EBS, S3, etc.

CompensationThe base pay ranges from $70,700 to $158,000 per year depending on geographic market and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign‑on payments and benefits. This position will remain posted until filled.
