The Oregon Department of Corrections invites qualified candidates to apply for a Food Service Manager 1 position at Two Rivers Correctional Institution (TRCI) in Umatilla, Oregon.
An Food Service Manager provides overall leadership and direction for food service operations ponsibilities include planning, organizing, and overseeing daily food service activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant meal service for a large institutional population, supervising Food Service Coordinators and Adults in Custody assigned to food service, managing procurement, receipt, storage, preparation, service, and disposal of food products, ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and security protocols, inventory control, equipment maintenance, and budgeting.
The role also involves staff hiring, training, performance evaluation, scheduling, corrective actions, and working closely with institutional leadership, administrative staff, and dietitians for menu planning that meets nutritional guidelines and accommodates religious, cultural, and medically prescribed diets.
- Five years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience
- OR two years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Budget planning, tracking, and fiscal management
- Employee supervision, coaching, and leadership
- Experience working with labor unions and CBA
- Food preparation and food safety compliance
- Ordering, storing, and inventory management of perishable products
- Knowledge of religious, cultural, and dietary food requirements
- Serve Safe Certification (preferred, not required)
