Financial Analyst

Role Summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Financial Analyst to join a leading organization's Global Manufacturing & Supply (GMS) team at the Union City facility. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to provide critical financial support to manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting cost analysis, and partnering with site operations to drive financial performance and compliance.

Department: Global Manufacturing & Supply (GMS) – Diagnostics Platform Finance

Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Compensation: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour depending on experience

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key member of the Diagnostics Platform Finance team, providing financial support to the Union City manufacturing site.
  • Month-End Close Activities
    • Perform full month-end closing process for the Union City site, including:
      • Manufacturing variance analysis (MUV, PPV, Volume, Spending)
      • Journal entry preparation and posting
      • Accrual calculations
      • Management reporting generation
      • Account reconciliations
    • Collaborate with site operations and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and submit the Monthly Operations Summary Report
    , including commentary on variances and collection of explanations from plant-level resources.
  • Partner with Site Operations Teams to resolve issues discovered during closing and maintain timely, accurate reporting.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Support annual budget cycle and assist in generating product costs.
    • Provide SAP-based reports to operations leaders for labor and material planning.
    • Analyze product cost variances and identify key cost drivers during budget preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and support internal/external audits.
  • Calculate costs for new manufactured items and provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
  • Maintain flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Review and reconcile manufacturing accounts daily to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor production cost drivers and communicate trends to site leadership.
  • Generate and distribute SAP-based financial reports for operational decision-making.
  • Respond to inquiries from plant managers and operations teams regarding cost variances.
  • Prepare journal entries and accruals for ongoing transactions.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to financial processes and reporting.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related Business discipline required
  • MBA or Master's degree in a business-related field preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years in a manufacturing finance or cost accounting environment
  • Product costing experience strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong plant cost accounting/manufacturing accounting expertise
  • SAP proficiency required
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse teams
  • High level of professional integrity and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Pay Details: $38.00 to $40.00 per hour
