CHHA - Certified Home Health Aide

Job Summary

We are hiring per diem Certified Home Health Aides (CHHA) for home care services. As a CHHA, you will assist participants in the home with duties essential to the patient’s health, following individualized care plans under the direction of the Home Care Coordinator or Registered Nurse.

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
• Provide basic nursing care and medical support as directed by the care plan
• Ensure a safe and clean environment, following hygiene and infection control procedures
• Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff
• Recognize and report changes in patients’ conditions promptly
• Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with care plans and regulations

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Home Health Aide License — New Jersey
• Current driver’s license with proof of auto insurance
• Safe driving record

• Knowledge of home health aide principles, practices, and standards
• Awareness of common safety hazards and precautions
• Ability to use and maintain medical equipment
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with patients, co‑workers, and medical staff
• Problem‑solving and recommendation skills
• Clear and effective communication
• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision

• Minimum of 1 year working as a CHHA with frail or elderly patients

Doctors must complete medical clearance for communicable diseases and maintain up‑to‑date immunizations before direct participant contact.
