Commercial Lending Officer
United Bank of Union is searching for a Commercial Lending Officer to develop and support the lending activities of the bank. The ideal candidate will possess prior commercial lending experience, a strong credit/risk management background, a record of successful business development, a desire for continued professional development, and strong teamwork and communication skills.
Responsibilities- Identify and cultivate new commercial lending and deposit opportunities through networking, referrals, and community involvement.
- Build and maintain relationships with business clients and referral sources.
- Analyze client needs and recommend appropriate loan products.
- Review loan requests, credit history, and financial statements to perform a detailed analysis to determine whether proposed applications meet lending criteria.
- Prepare proposed credit memos, including recommendations for loan pricing and terms, and receive concurrence from the credit approving officer/s prior to proceeding with in-depth client negotiations.
- Monitor loan portfolio, communicating directly with borrowers, to ensure that all required financial exhibit due dates are monitored and received from customers in a timely manner.
- Maintain the credit quality of their individual portfolio within bank standards and guidelines; promptly surface all risk issues uncovered over the course of managing the portfolio.
- Ensure all loans meet federal, state, and internal banking regulations.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and bank regulations, including lending limits and documentation.
- Represent the bank at community events and business functions to enhance visibility and build relationships.
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, business administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3-5 years of commercial lending experience in a banking environment.
- Proven track record in business development and portfolio management.
- Strong analytical and financial analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in loan origination systems and Microsoft Office.
