Janitor
Facility Cleaning- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in warehouse and office areas.
- Clean restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas, including sanitizing surfaces and restocking supplies.
- Dust shelves, windowsills, and other surfaces to maintain cleanliness.
- Empty trash bins and recycling containers throughout the facility.
- Dispose of waste according to company and local regulations.
- Monitor waste disposal areas to prevent overflow or hazards.
- Clear debris and spills from warehouse aisles and workstations to ensure safety.
- Clean and maintain dock areas and staging zones.
- Wipe down equipment, racks, and other surfaces in the warehouse.
- Respond to spills, leaks, or other hazards promptly, including using appropriate cleaning materials.
- Use and store cleaning chemicals safely according to OSHA guidelines.
- Ensure that all emergency exits and pathways are clear of obstructions.
- Operate floor cleaning machines, such as scrubbers or sweepers.
- Perform routine checks on janitorial equipment to ensure it functions properly.
- Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to supervisors.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
- Keep an inventory of cleaning products and request orders for restocking.
- Communicate with warehouse managers and staff to identify specific cleaning needs or concerns.
- Assist with cleaning tasks required for special projects or events.
- Keep outdoor areas, such as parking lots, loading docks, and entrances, clean and free of debris.
- Remove snow, ice, or other weather-related hazards when necessary.
- Follow all safety procedures and adhere to company policies regarding cleaning practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and health regulations.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by management, such as assisting with minor maintenance projects or moving furniture.
These duties ensure the distribution center remains clean, safe, and operational, contributing to a productive working environment.
