Maintenance Team Lead

Job Description

Key responsibilities are to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment within a food processing and packaging facility in strict compliance with GMP, HAACP, and USDA regulations. Equipment includes robots, automated packaging machinery, and servo systems and controls. This role coordinates predictive and preventative maintenance activities in accordance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies. The scope of work includes electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, control systems and building maintenance.

In a lead role, responsibilities will extend to providing support, supervision, and training of maintenance technicians to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production operations. As an employee, this individual must consistently demonstrate The Volpi Way fundamental behaviors.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment and industrial control systems including wiring, sensors, servomotors, and drives. Perform repairs and predictive and preventative maintenance on production and facilities equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Maintain proper documentation of work orders within Redzone or other CMMS. Respond quickly to production breakdowns and coordinate resources to minimize downtime. Identify and follow through with continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives.

Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities and larger projects including work assignment and verification of proper maintenance techniques and quality of work. Lead root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement reliability measures. Work closely with maintenance manager to schedule and assign maintenance tasks and coordinate contractors as required. Provide necessary department leadership and communication in the absence of the Maintenance Manager.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or a controls disciplineORA minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or a controls discipline with an associate's degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance or a related, technical discipline. Industrial HVAC certification is preferred. PLC troubleshooting experience preferred. Maintenance leadership experience preferred. Experience in food manufacturing (meat, dairy, etc.)

preferred. Strong aptitude for learning, troubleshooting, and diagnosing a wide variety of issues on an extremely diverse set of equipment. Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends to support, as needed.

Candidate must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, push, and pull. Must be able to work in an environment between 40-65 degrees. Must be able to work around dust and mold. Must be able to wear a hairnet, gloves, and hearing protection.

Must perform all level functions at a satisfactory level for a minimum
