Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a thorough understanding of dental hygiene practices. This role involves working closely with patients to provide exceptional dental care, educate them on oral health, and assist the dental team in delivering high-quality services.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough dental cleanings and assessments for patients.
Perform periodontal evaluations and document findings accurately.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist in the development of individualized patient care plans.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality.
Utilize Dentrix software for documentation and patient management.
Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care, including pediatrics when necessary.
Review documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness before patient records are finalized.
Requirements
Valid Dental Hygienist and Local Anesthesia license in accordance with state regulations.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry practices.
Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental office management software is preferred.
Experience in pediatrics is a plus but not mandatory.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health topics.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Commitment to ongoing education and staying current with best practices in dental hygiene.
Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding documentation review and infection control measures.
