Availability from 12pm-6pm Monday-Thursday are first priority.

Position Summary
This is an entry level position in the Reservations and Event Planning Services Department at the UWM Student Union. Primary responsibilities are focused on set up and tear down of events that take place on campus, while providing customer service to clients through event support and other various needs. To also assist in operational tasks such as opening and closing meeting rooms for clients, departments within the Student Union and student organizations.
* We require at least one year of work within the department prior to graduation*
Report to Operations Supervisors or designee. Work with crew members in the performance of various room set-ups; arrange furniture and other equipment set-ups for meetings, gatherings, parties, banquets, dances, etc., according to prearranged plans. Assist in setting up audio-visual equipment. Clean and reset rooms to standard after events. Assist in opening and closing meeting rooms, rooms for various UWM Union departments, and student organizations.
Operate cash register for events, i.e. dances, concerts. Provide event security, coat check, wrist banding, alcohol control, spotlight operator and other event needs. Cleaning and restocking of storage areas.

As assigned.
Physical requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to perform physical tasks, such as moving large stage sections, moving and operating large lifts, and other heavy equipment. Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Qualifications
Must be neat personable, have a good oral and written communication skills, follow written and oral directions, and work well in a team effort and independently. Must be dependable and reliable and should have a flexible schedule to accommodate various scheduled events. Applicant should be knowledgeable in basic AV equipment. Previous experience is preferred but not required. Candidate must have STRONG WORK ETHIC and prefer to have a physical job.
