We are currently looking for a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team on a per diem basis. This person is responsible for providing physical therapy treatment and related tasks to patients in their homes or alternate community settings under the direction or supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist in Union County.

• Associates Degree approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
• Licensed in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year experience but 2 plus years preferred as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Home care experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates ability to work well under pressure, within strict time parameters, and with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

• Travel by car.
• Exposure to changing weather conditions; sometimes driving in inclement weather.
• Varied residential environments, based on assigned caseload.
• May be exposed to resident waste, tissue and blood products; required to use personal protective equipment and universal precautions accordingly.
• May be exposed to infectious pathogens, virus and disease.
• May be exposed to combative patients and/or patients with delirium/confusion.

• Ability to communicate with others (verbal and written) and exchange accurate information.
• Close and mid‑distance visual acuity.
• Manual dexterity to operate general office equipment, such as phone, computer.
• Ability to remain in stationary position for extended periods of time.
• Ability to carry 15 pounds while walking or climbing stairs.
• Ability to squat, kneel, bend, reach and grasp (while bending) to assist a 250‑pound patient to their feet from a sitting position and to assist the patient back to a sitting position.
