- Familiarity with the correct materials for packaging, wrapping and sterilization methods of all instrument sets and trays.
- Complete knowledge of a case cart preparation system.
- Basic computer knowledge with an Instrument Tracking system (ABACUS/MICROSYSTEMS) preferred.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Heavy lifting and pushing (trays & sterilization carts).
- Responsible for decontamination, prepping and packaging sterilization processes of all surgical instrumentation and patient care equipment.
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
- Basic Computer skills, reading and writing
- General Knowledge of function and maintenance of Surgical Instruments and Patient Care Equipment
- Competent to operate sterilizers
- Works well with others
- Works well in a fast paced environment
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician or CBSPD
- High School Diploma
