Senior Metallurgical Engineer

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Sr. Metallurgical Engineer for an Onsite opportunity. The candidate will be responsible for the development of plant standards, technical instructions, and procedures in order to ensure that all metallurgical activities are in alignment with corporate requirements.

Required Qualifications of the Sr. Metallurgical Engineer:

• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
• Bachelor's degree in Material Science or other job-related degree
• 3 years’ of experience in Metallurgical analysis
• Heat treat experience in a manufacturing environment
• Supervisory experience in a lab environment

Responsibilities of the Sr. Metallurgical Engineer:

• Analyze all data regarding steel, forgings, and heat treatment, and notifies non-compliances with the corporate met standards.
• Lead, plan, organize and coordinate all Metallurgical & Metrology Laboratory activities.
• Provide direct leadership to Metallurgical & Metrology Laboratory employees and provide direction and support.
• Provide daily oversight of control plans for thermal treatment in correlation with process capability and corporate standards.
• Comply with and ensure all plant metallurgical activities are following corporate metallurgical standards.
• Analyze product and process metallurgical non-conformities and establish appropriate resolutions (corrective actions), within responsibility limits.
• Submit quarterly samples for steel audit; coordinate all activities related to these samples.
• Report monthly, all aspects regarding the metallurgical activity of the plant.
• Provide strategic direction in utilizing new heat treat technology and equipment.
