Overview

Family Dollar is hiring an Assistant Manager II to assist with store operations, customer service, and team development.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
  • Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
  • Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas
  • Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
  • Process corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and related store communications)
  • Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays
  • Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits/receipts), and loss prevention
  • Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
  • Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
  • Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures
  • Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
  • Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders
  • Maintain store cleanliness, bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neat presentation
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives
  • Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
  • Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs; frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
  • Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
  • Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
