The Electrician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and support of Nassau Coliseum, including 120-480 volt power distribution, shop repairs, motor control, lighting systems, and energy conservation. The Electrician must respond to 12kv outages, diagnose issues, and take corrective actions to restore power.

• Perform journeyman-level electrical repair and maintenance of power distribution systems, lighting, and energy conservation.
• Install power for contracted events and assist guests with electrical setup for shows and seminars.
• Support other crafts as needed and provide own hand tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED plus completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training providing journeyman experience.
• Minimum of five years related journeyman experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, tools, equipment, and procedures.
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Minimum one year of experience in Electronic Testing and Diagnostics.

Requires standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Must lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

Regular exposure to electrical shock risks, moving mechanical parts, high places, weather conditions, and loud noise. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
