Part‑Time Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice Trainers/Instructors - Justice and Safety Institute

We are seeking qualified professionals to deliver training in our Criminal Justice Programs. Courses blend onsite instruction with online and asynchronous delivery, focusing on leadership, management, and operational skills.

• Current Penn State employee: log in to Workday and complete the internal application.
• Current Penn State student (not previously employed): log in to Workday and complete the student application.
• External applicant: click “Apply” and complete the application flow.

• Deliver instruction on subjects such as Budgeting, Report Writing, Grant Writing, First Line Supervision, Field Training Officer, Police Executive Development, Advanced Executive Development, Media, Leadership and Command, Police Conduct, Performance Appraisal, and Risk Management.
• Prepare training materials and assessments for onsite, online, and asynchronous formats.
• Travel to client agencies for in‑person instruction as required.

• Minimum of 3 years command experience in law enforcement.
• Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in law enforcement.
• Experience supervising in a correctional facility.
• Valid driver’s license; motor vehicle records check required.
• Successful completion of a background check.
