Dev Sec Ops Research and Development Engineer
We are seeking highly motivated, self-starting Dev Sec Ops Research and Development Engineers to join our team in the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State. These positions will work out of our State College, PA, Reston, VA, San Diego, CA, or Hawaii locations/offices. ARL is an authorized DoD Skill Bridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.
Responsibilities- Design and implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments
- Manage continuous integration and delivery pipeline to maximize efficiency
- Improve systems through updates and optimizations using various technologies
- Present program overviews, proposals, and technical briefings at internal and external events
- Coordinate with sponsors and team members to identify risks, issues, requirements, and design solutions for project-level activity on a day-to-day basis
- Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (or equivalent experience) - Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Ansible
- Experience with version control software such as Git
- Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with logging, search, and/or aggregation tools such as Splunk, Elastic, or Prometheus
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills
- Well-organized, independent, and ready to work with minimal supervision
- Working with Atlassian products (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence)
- Working knowledge in Java, C/C++, and Matlab
- Familiarity with VMware virtualization tools
- Familiarity with Git Lab
- Experience with databases such as SQL, Postgre
SQL, and MySQL - Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services

Salary Range$76,700.00 – $ (may be impacted by geographic differential).
