Overview
T32 Postdoctoral Fellow – The Prevention and Methodology Training (PAMT) program at The Pennsylvania State University is hiring a cohort of Postdoctoral Fellows focused on substance use and addiction. PAMT is an interdisciplinary program at the Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) in the College of Health and Human Development. Funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse through a T32 award, PAMT cross-trains predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers as substance use prevention scientists and methodologists.
Fellows are trained to apply cutting-edge methods to emerging critical research needs in the prevention of substance use and addiction. This two-year training program presents a unique opportunity for postdoctoral researchers who wish to establish a research career focused on substance use prevention to receive two years of training from leading substance use prevention scientists and methodologists in the country.
- Work on ongoing projects with opportunities to publish.
- Develop own lines of research with mentorship and protected time to progress.
- Receive training and be encouraged to write a grant proposal during the fellowship.
- Participate in a variety of professional development activities on campus and at conferences and professional meetings.
- Eligible applicants will have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. (or equivalent) at the time of appointment; degrees may be in any department, with strong fit from fields such as human development, psychology, epidemiology, health behavior, biobehavioral health, sociology, criminology, quantitative psychology, or biostatistics.
- U.S. citizenship or non-citizen national status, or lawful permanent residency at time of appointment (per NIH regulations for most T32 positions).
