Postdoc position in the Applied Weed Physiology Laboratory
We are recruiting for a Postdoctoral Scholar to work on the development of new diagnostic tools for herbicide resistance. This project is part of a larger collaborative effort among institutions spanning the eastern, southern, and northcentral U.S. regions. Key objectives include developing rapid diagnostic tools for herbicide resistance detection, establishing diagnostic standards, and discovering new herbicide resistance mechanisms for further diagnostic development.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, validate, and implement quick assays for herbicide resistance diagnostics
- Coordinate with partner institutions to secure and keep record of germplasm for method development, as well as reporting
- Assist PI with coordination of activities in the AWPL
- Write research papers, grant proposals, and present findings at project meetings and conferences
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in weed science, molecular biology, biotechnology, horticulture, biology, or a related field. A strong publication record, evidence of independent work, and ability to work in teams is expected. Skills in molecular biology, analytical chemistry, or
-omics tools are a plus.
This is a term position funded for one year from date of hire.
