The Goodman Cancer Institute is seeking an academic associate who will contribute to cutting‑edge research in cancer immunotherapy and biotherapeutics, with a strong emphasis on flow cytometry, immune assays, and preclinical testing in cancer models. The role involves both independent and collaborative work under the guidance of the research supervisor.
Key Responsibilities Research Execution & Protocol Development- Designs, develops, and conducts research projects and experimental protocols related to cancer immunology and biotherapeutics.
- Applies advanced techniques including flow cytometry, immune assays, and in vivo preclinical testing to evaluate therapeutic efficacy and immune responses.
- Establishes and refines research methodologies, including data collection, statistical analysis, and interpretation of complex biological data.
- Develops and implements novel analytical approaches to enhance experimental outcomes and reproducibility.
- Leads the planning and execution of experiments, including recruitment and training of research staff, test administration, and laboratory procedures.
- Oversees the preparation of research documentation and ensures compliance with ethical and scientific standards.
- Develops and validates new research methods and protocols to support evolving project needs and scientific advancements.
- Analyzes and interprets research findings, prepares comprehensive research reports, and contributes to peer‑reviewed publications.
- Writes theoretical and methodological papers that advance the field of cancer immunotherapy.
- Prepares and writes grant applications to secure funding for ongoing and future research initiatives.
- Ensures the quality and integrity of research outputs and provides oversight and mentorship to junior research staff.
- Organizes, distributes, and verifies the work of Research Assistants and contributes to their training and development.
PhD in applicable field
Required Qualifications and SkillsExpertise in flow cytometry, immune assays and preclinical testing of biotherapeutics in cancer models.
