Responsible for supervising activities related to guest services and food and beverage operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all external and internal customers
- Respond to and resolve customer issues and requests
- Serve as Manager on Duty, supervising guest service and concessions operations
- Reconcile cashier deposits, count and verify the change fund, and balance cash drawers at the end of each shift
- Responsible for training guest service personnel
- Assist with inventory control and supply deliveries
- Monitor inventory stock and order supplies
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of concession and guest service areas
- Ensure that concession facilities adhere to all health codes
- Perform opening and closing procedures
- Responsible for food preparation
- Service food items to guests
- Act as cashier on Point‑of‑sale system (Civic Rec)
- Act as Guest Services staff person as needed
- Follow established City of University Park policies and procedures
- Attend all staff meetings and trainings
- Maintain regular and punctual on‑site attendance
If hired by the Parks & Recreation Department as a seasonal employee, I understand that I must adhere to and will be required to participate in the following:
- Attend mandatory drug screening
- Attend mandatory Human Resources orientation if hired as a new employee
- Attend all paid pre‑season training sessions (required job skills, position specific and program training, etc.)
- Attend all mandatory paid inservice trainings as scheduled
- Be at work on time for every scheduled shift (arrive and clocked in 15‑minutes before the scheduled start of the shift unless the shift is an opening shift)
- Report to work and remain free from being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol
- Wear staff uniform while on duty – Staff Shirt, appropriate shorts or pants, and head cover while in the Snack Shack
- Be available to work weekdays, weekends and holidays, opening and closing shifts, and Holmes Aquatic Center special events
- Be willing to substitute for others, including Guest Services staff and cashiers
- Be willing to work together for the better of the team
- Report to the Aquatics Coordinator (or Pool Manager on duty if the Aquatics Coordinator is not on site)
- Maintain a clean work environment in and around the facility.
- Be available for a minimum of 70 work days during the season (14 days maximum approved days off season. Additional requests must have complete shift coverage before being approved)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Serv Safe Food Manager Certification
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer within 3 months of employment
- Prior experience operating a cash register
- Prior experience supervising employees
- Prior experience in customer service and food handling
Work is performed indoors and outdoors and involves direct contact with the general public. The work schedule of a Food Service Manager will include opening and closing shifts during weekdays and weekends. Holiday work is required. Work may involve being around harmful chemicals.

In accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is not eligible for overtime for hours worked over 40 in a designated work week.
ScheduleThe City of University Park is currently accepting applications for Aquatic Positions. All positions require the ability to work flexible schedules up to 40 hours per week, with a preferred start date of April 27, 2026, and the availability to work Sunday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. through 8:30 p.m., including holidays and special events. Must pass a criminal background check (if 18 years old or older) and drug test.
