The Department of Anatomical Sciences at Stony Brook University School of Medicine invites applications for an Research Instructor position. The incumbent is expected to contribute to the research profile of the department and will have teaching responsibilities in human gross anatomy to healthcare professional students. This is a one year renewable appointment.
Required QualificationsApplicants must have completed all requirements for the PhD (or foreign equivalent), with the exception of submission of the final draft of their dissertation, in anatomy, evolutionary morphology, vertebrate morphology, systematics, physical anthropology or related fields by the application; and have completed a dissection-based course in human anatomy by the start date.
Preferred QualificationsPreference will be given to those who have taught a dissection-based human anatomy course, and have an ongoing research program and record of publications related to the department’s current areas of research interest including functional and evolutionary morphology, comparative anatomy and phylogenetics.
