Job Description - PROGRAM DIRECTOR II (T219345)
Position Summary:
Provides overall management of Southern All of Us Network (SAoUN) operations and reporting. The SAoUN is a Regional Medical Center (RMC) coordinating center for the Southern U.S. in the NIH-funded All of Us Research Program. Administers logistical support for a large and complex program, coordinating with other RMCs and the national program. Participates in developing and implementing program plans, objectives, and directives.
Acts as a communication liaison between the NIH and our partner sites in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Manages programmatic fiscal activities, supervises staff engaged in carrying out program activities, and may contribute to grant writing and/or other ability to secure program funding. Prepares various reports for the programs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manages overall day-to-day operations of the SAoUN, ensuring alignment with Notice of Grant Award milestones.
- Communicates NIH updates to partner sites, facilitating process implementation and changes to key indicators.
- Creates and submits NIH technical reports; notifies NIH of any changes in network structure or operations, adverse events, other barriers to completing milestones.
- Conducts post-award financial and grants management; submits NIH financial reports as required.
- Manages regulatory responsibilities, to include IRB submissions as required.
- Monitors enrollment, engagement, and retention outcomes for the SAoUN, providing corrective action recommendations and collaborating on new strategies to complete goals.
- Cultivates participant recruitment initiatives within and external to UAB.
- Manages subaward initiation, invoicing, and payments.
- Responsible for the development and management of subcontracts, vendor relations, and employee lease agreements.
- Coordinates ongoing operations with staff for sample collection processing and shipments.
- Contributes to grant writing, application submissions.
- Plans and implements network meetings, working group meetings; attends key All of Us program meetings, disseminates updates as needed.
- Provides input on programmatic decision-making for hiring and staffing levels.
- Supervision of assigned staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $60,835 - $98,855
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task is critical in support of many different activities. Strong ability to collaborate with others.
Preferred
Skills:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines. UAB financial management. IRB / regulatory experience. Knowledge of the All of Us Research Program is a plus.
