Deli Worker Park; Grade 9

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Set up and close cash register, audit monies, take orders, and ring up sales
• Operate cash register, make change, and clear sales tapes
• Close and lock snack bar at end of business
• Check, stock, rotate supplies, food, and products; order supplies as needed
• Assist in inventory taking and requisition supplies
• Slice meat, cheese, and stock deli cases
• Serve food and store leftovers properly
• Prepare items such as hot and cold sandwiches, pizza, according to recipes and procedures
• Assist in food preparation and setup for catered events
• Operate slicer, pizza ovens, coffee urns, scale, dishwashing equipment, soda dispensers, espresso machine, grill fryer, steam table, ice cream machine
• Maintain condiment station supplies and sanitation
• Ensure adequate supply of dishes, utensils, and serving items
• Clean and direct part-time employees in cleaning food preparation, service areas, dishroom, dining areas, and equipment
• Clean tables, grills, ice cream machines, sweep and mop floors
• Answer questions and assist in training part-time employees
• Report equipment maintenance needs to supervisor

The company is looking for:

• 3 to 12 months of effective experience
• Ability to use commercial English, grammar, and arithmetic including decimals and fractions
• Ability to interpret and use formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, and measuring instruments
• Capability to prepare, interpret, use, and check reports, forms, records, and comparable data
• Authorization to work in the U.S.;
