Librarian - Academic Resources

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and service-oriented Academic Librarian to manage and develop resources for their institution in Upington . This role involves curating collections, assisting students and faculty with research, and promoting library services to support academic endeavors. You will play a key role in ensuring access to relevant information and fostering a culture of inquiry and lifelong learning.

• Manage and develop the library's collection, including selecting, acquiring, and cataloging print and digital resources.
• Provide research assistance and instruction to students, faculty, and staff, enhancing their information literacy skills.
• Develop and deliver workshops and training sessions on research methods, database usage, and citation management.
• Assist in the management and maintenance of the library's integrated library system (ILS).
• Promote library services and resources through various outreach activities and online platforms.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate library resources into course curricula and research projects.

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent.
• Proven experience working in an academic library setting .
• Strong knowledge of library principles, practices, and technologies, including databases and cataloging.
