About the Role
Our client is actively recruiting for a specialized Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer to join their operations in Mahikeng . This critical role focuses on the mechanical integrity, reliability, and performance of rotating machinery, such as pumps, turbines, compressors, and motors. You will be responsible for ensuring these vital assets operate efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and optimizing operational output. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with deep expertise in rotating equipment to apply their skills in a significant industrial capacity within the North West province.
Key Responsibilities- Perform mechanical design, analysis, and troubleshooting for a wide range of rotating equipment.
- Develop and implement inspection, testing, and maintenance strategies for critical rotating assets.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on equipment malfunctions and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide technical support for the procurement, installation, and commissioning of new rotating equipment.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in the management of rotating machinery.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of specialized experience with rotating equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of pump, compressor, and turbine technologies and their mechanical principles.
- Experience with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Proficiency in relevant analysis tools and CAD software .
- Strong understanding of failure modes and mechanisms specific to rotating machinery.
