Our client is seeking a talented Telecoms RF Engineer to join their dynamic team in Upington . This role is critical for the design, implementation, and optimization of radio frequency (RF) networks, ensuring robust wireless coverage and capacity. You will be responsible for analyzing RF performance data, conducting site surveys, and recommending technical solutions to enhance network quality and user experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF engineering principles, cellular network technologies, and a passion for delivering cutting-edge wireless solutions within the telecoms industry, contributing significantly to the company's wireless infrastructure development.
- Design and plan cellular network deployments, including antenna placement, coverage modeling, and capacity planning.
- Conduct RF site surveys, measurements, and drive tests to evaluate network performance.
- Analyze RF data to identify coverage gaps, interference issues, and optimization opportunities.
- Configure and troubleshoot RF network elements and related equipment.
- Collaborate with network operations and engineering teams to implement network upgrades and new technologies.
- Stay current with emerging RF technologies and industry best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in RF engineering, specifically within mobile telecommunications networks (e.g., LTE, 5G).
- Proficiency in RF planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, or similar.
- Strong understanding of RF principles, propagation models, antenna theory, and cellular network architecture.
- Experience with RF test equipment and data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a field-based role.
