About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Research Engineer with expertise in Renewable Energy technologies for their research facility in Upington . This role focuses on the development, testing, and optimization of next-generation energy systems. You will work on cutting-edge projects aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of renewable energy sources. The ideal candidate possesses a strong engineering background, practical experience in experimental design, and a passion for advancing clean energy solutions.
You will collaborate with a team of engineers and scientists to bring novel energy technologies from concept to prototype, contributing to a greener future.
- Design, build, and test experimental setups for renewable energy systems (e.g., solar, wind, energy storage).
- Conduct performance analysis and optimization of energy conversion and storage devices.
- Develop and implement data acquisition and control systems for experimental validation.
- Collaborate with research scientists to analyze experimental data and interpret results.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations on research findings.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and emerging technologies in the renewable energy sector.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with a focus on renewable energy.
- 3-5 years of experience in research and development related to renewable energy technologies.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and characterization of energy systems.
- Proficiency in relevant simulation software (e.g., MATLAB, ANSYS) and programming languages (e.g., Python).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, or electrical circuit design as applicable.
