About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Industrial Engineer to join their team in Upington , with a focus on facility layout and material flow optimization. This role is essential for enhancing the efficiency and productivity of our operations by designing effective physical arrangements of work spaces, equipment, and materials. You will analyze current layouts, identify constraints, and implement improvements that streamline processes, reduce non-value-added movement, and ensure a safe working environment.

- Analyze current facility layouts and material flow paths to identify inefficiencies and safety hazards.
- Design and optimize facility layouts, workstations, and storage areas to improve workflow and reduce congestion.
- Develop and implement strategies for efficient material handling and logistics within the facility.
- Utilize CAD software and simulation tools to visualize and test proposed layout changes.
- Collaborate with operations, safety, and maintenance teams to ensure integrated and effective solutions.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures related to facility layout and material flow.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a focus on facility design and layout.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and process simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of material handling principles, Lean Manufacturing, and ergonomics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and spatial reasoning skills.
