About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized Civil Engineer focused on Water and Wastewater Systems to join their team in Upington . This role involves the design, planning, and project management of essential water and sewerage infrastructure, including treatment plants, pipelines, pump stations, and distribution networks. You will play a key part in developing sustainable and efficient systems to meet the growing needs of communities in the Northern Cape .
The position requires strong technical expertise, practical problem-solving abilities, and effective collaboration with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure the successful delivery of critical public utility projects, contributing to improved public health and environmental protection.
- Design and analysis of water treatment processes and distribution networks.
- Develop plans for wastewater collection systems and treatment facilities.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling for water supply and sewerage systems.
- Prepare design reports, tender documents, and construction supervision plans.
- Manage projects from conception through to commissioning, ensuring quality and budget adherence.
- Liaise with municipal authorities, environmental agencies, and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water/Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and management of water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is required.
- Proficiency in relevant design software such as EPANET, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, and AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of municipal standards, environmental regulations, and treatment technologies.
