About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized Subsea Engineer to contribute to their offshore projects based out of the Upington hub, serving regional offshore operations. This role focuses on the design, specification, installation, and operation of subsea equipment and systems used in hydrocarbon production. You will work closely with project teams, vendors, and offshore personnel to ensure the successful execution of subsea infrastructure development and maintenance.
This is a critical technical role within the Offshore Oil & Gas sector, requiring expertise in complex underwater systems.
- Design, engineer, and specify subsea production systems, including trees, manifolds, pipelines, and control systems.
- Develop installation procedures and support offshore installation and commissioning activities.
- Perform technical evaluations of subsea equipment and supplier proposals.
- Analyze subsea system performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with drilling, production, and structural engineers to integrate subsea components into overall project plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in subsea engineering within the Oil & Gas industry , particularly in offshore environments.
- Proficiency in subsea hardware design, installation techniques, and relevant software.
- Strong understanding of subsea control systems, umbilical systems, and PLETs/PLEMs.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
