About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Petroleum Engineer to join their team, contributing to projects in the vicinity of Upington . This vital role involves optimizing the recovery of oil and gas resources through advanced reservoir analysis and production management. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance production, manage reservoir performance, and ensure the economic viability of assets.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of reservoir engineering principles, simulation techniques, and production optimization, playing a crucial role in maximizing value from existing and new fields within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Develop and maintain reservoir models to forecast production and reserve estimates.
- Design and implement production optimization strategies and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects.
- Monitor well and field performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct economic evaluations for development and infill drilling opportunities.
- Collaborate with geologists and drilling engineers on integrated field development plans.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management.
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in petroleum and reservoir engineering within the Oil & Gas sector .
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG) and production analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid flow, and well performance .
- Experience with unconventional reservoirs and advanced recovery techniques is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
