Project Manager - Water and Sanitation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Project Manager with specialized experience in Water and Sanitation infrastructure to join their team in Upington . This role is responsible for managing the planning, design, and implementation of projects related to water supply, wastewater treatment, and sanitation systems. You will work closely with engineers, government officials, contractors, and community stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, sustainably, and meet community needs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in civil engineering and a proven ability to manage complex infrastructure projects in this essential sector.

• Manage the full lifecycle of water and sanitation projects, from conceptualization and design through to construction and commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, budgets, resource allocation, and timelines.
• Oversee the procurement process for materials, equipment, and contractor services.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant engineering standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety protocols.
• Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
• Engage with local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure project support and acceptance.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on water and sanitation infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing infrastructure projects such as water treatment plants, distribution networks, and sewage systems.
• Knowledge of relevant South African water and sanitation regulations and standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and civil engineering design principles.
