Professional Civil Engineer – Water & Wastewater

Introduction:

Our client, an established consulting engineering firm, is looking for a Professional Civil Engineer with strong experience in municipal water and wastewater infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects from early feasibility and planning through to design, construction and commissioning

• Lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater projects.
• Develop engineering solutions from feasibility through to detailed design and implementation.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, BOQs and tender documentation.
• Coordinate civil, hydraulic, process, mechanical and electrical engineering inputs.
• Manage relationships with clients, municipalities, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress.
• Assist with contract administration, commissioning and project close-out.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
• Support project planning, coordination and overall delivery.

• BEng, BSc or BTech in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• ECSA registration as a PrEng or Pr Tech Eng .
• Preferably 10+ years’ relevant experience in municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to travel when required.
• Working knowledge of relevant civil engineering design and modelling software.

• Potable water and wastewater treatment works.
• Bulk water infrastructure and pipelines.
• Water and sewer networks.
• Reservoirs and pump stations.
• Hydraulic assessments and water infrastructure design.
• Understanding of treatment processes and their civil, hydraulic and mechanical interfaces.
• Construction monitoring and contract administration.
