About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineering Specialist to join their team in Upington . This role focuses on applying engineering principles to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality within our manufacturing and operational processes. You will be involved in analyzing current systems, designing optimized workflows, and implementing solutions that enhance overall performance. You will work collaboratively with production staff and management to identify and implement improvements.
- Analyze production processes, workflows, and equipment utilization to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement optimized layouts, material handling systems, and production schedules.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard times and improve work methods.
- Prepare reports and recommendations on process improvements, cost savings, and productivity enhancements.
- Assist in the implementation of new processes, equipment, or technologies, ensuring smooth integration and training.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in an industrial engineering or process improvement role.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and workflow optimization.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
