Our client is looking for a qualified Mine Ventilation Engineer to ensure optimal air quality, temperature, and safety conditions within their underground mining operations. This role is essential for maintaining a healthy and productive working environment for all personnel. You will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining ventilation systems, monitoring air quality, and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements related to mine ventilation.
This position requires a deep understanding of mine ventilation principles, fluid dynamics, and safety regulations. Your expertise will be critical in safeguarding the health of our workforce and ensuring efficient mining operations by maintaining ideal environmental conditions underground.
- Design, implement, and manage underground mine ventilation systems to ensure adequate airflow and air quality.
- Conduct surveys and measurements of air quantity, quality, temperature, and humidity.
- Perform calculations for fan selection, duct sizing, and pressure drops.
- Develop and maintain ventilation plans and reports in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot ventilation issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Collaborate with mine planning and safety departments to integrate ventilation strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on ventilation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, preferably in underground mining.
- Strong knowledge of mine ventilation principles, fans, and air monitoring equipment.
- Proficiency in mine ventilation modeling software (e.g., Ventsim, Whisper).
- Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations pertaining to mine ventilation.
