Our client is looking for a creative and technically proficient Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join their team in Upington . This role is responsible for the design and development of innovative electrical systems that meet diverse client needs and industry standards. You will work on challenging projects, translating requirements into robust and efficient electrical solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong theoretical foundation coupled with practical design experience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering outputs within a collaborative company culture.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel layouts for power distribution, control, and automation systems.
- Specify electrical components, equipment, and materials, ensuring compatibility and adherence to project requirements.
- Conduct electrical load calculations, voltage drop studies, and short-circuit analysis.
- Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including technical specifications, bill of materials, and installation instructions.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure integrated and effective system designs.
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical systems design.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and simulation tools.
- Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and best practices in system design.
- Experience with low voltage and medium voltage systems is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
