Senior Civil Engineer - Water Resources

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer with a specialization in Water Resources to join their team in Upington, Northern Cape . This critical role will focus on the planning, design, and management of water-related infrastructure projects, including dams, pipelines, water treatment facilities, and irrigation systems. You will be instrumental in addressing water scarcity challenges and ensuring sustainable water management solutions for the region.

• Lead the design and planning of water resource projects, including hydraulic modeling, water supply schemes, and flood control structures.
• Conduct feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and risk analyses for water infrastructure projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications, tender documents, and contract administration.
• Oversee the construction phase of water infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
• Liaise with government bodies, water boards, clients, and community stakeholders on water-related issues.
• Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers specializing in water engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a postgraduate qualification in Water Resources Engineering highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the design and management of water resource and infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Proficiency in water modeling software (e.g., EPANET, MIKE FLOOD, HEC-RAS) and CAD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of South African water legislation, policies, and standards.
